Las Puertas is pleased to once again be the venue for this wonderful event! Doors open at 12pm and remain open until 6pm with flamenco dancing, music demonstrations, art workshops & dance classes throughout the day. Plus, there will be many artisans in attendance showing off and selling their pieces and with the holidays coming up, what could be better than a hand made art piece for those special people in your lives!
Mariza & Company is teaming up with Tierra Adentro: The New Mexico School of Academics, Art & Artesania to create an art show that takes you along North America’s oldest trade route, The Camino Real. From Chiapas to Mexico City to Albuquerque, experience the beauty of master artisan work while helping to support the development of one of Albuquerque’s premier local art schools.
This event has a few purposes.
1) To raise funds for the charter school, Tierra Adentro.
2) To give the kids a formal opportunity to show their art work in a community setting.
3) To teach the students about the business side of art and to have them engage alongside working professionals in their craft.
4) To provide the community with an art event bringing awareness to all kinds of art/artists along the Camino Real.
Admission is free and there will be some incredible local food available via The Boiler Monkey and The Supper Truck who will both be on site. So come by for great food, entertainment, and art pieces available for sale, all to support a terrific local Charter School that is supporting and encouraging our local up and coming artists!
