NM Philharmonic Young Musicians Initiative (El Sistema) Fundraiser

Join us on April 12th from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at Las Puertas for a night of music and inspiration!

The Young Musician Initiative (YMI) is a pilot program being implemented as part of the New Mexico Philharmonic’s No Child Without Music campaign. Fashioned after the highly successful Venezuelan youth orchestra program, El Sistema, YMI is a daily after-school program which began at one Albuquerque elementary school the end of 2012. Children from Kindergarten to 5th grade learn teamwork and leadership skills through experience in string ensemble and choir, while participating in their local community through performances for families, school groups, senior centers, first responders, and more.

Along with performances from the students currently in the program and  from the teachers, we’ll have heavy hors d’oeuvres and a Silent Auction.

There is no charge but an RSVP is requested so if you would like to attend, please either call 505-323-4343 or Email crancier@nmphil.org no later than April 5th.
